Operated by the government, labor insurance covers workers employed by public and private offices and plants. Labor Insurance premiums due from each insured are normally paid less by the insured, more by the employer, and/or by the government. The insured or his beneficiary can file a claim in the event of childbirth, injury, illness, disability, old age, or death. The expansion of the system over the past four decades has been continuous and steady. Currently, there are more than two hundred thousand employers participating with their six million workers insured under the system.
